TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Concepts and responsibilities
TEDxYouth@Singapore Team (hereinafter referred to as the “Organiser”) is the organiser of TEDxYouth@Singapore 2019 (hereinafter referred to as the “Event”). The Event will be held at *SCAPE Ground Theatre on 14 September 2019.
2. Contract conclusion and online orders
When completing an online order, the Participant must accept these General Terms and Conditions (GTCs). The order and payment will be made through the Peatix app.
2.2 Accessing tickets
The ticket will be saved in the Peatix app after it has been ordered and paid for by the Participants. If the Participant’s ticket was ordered on behalf of another party, the Participant shall be responsible for ensuring that the ticket is transferred to him/her. The Organiser accepts no liability if the Participant fails to receive the ticket from a transfer.
2.3 Showing the ticket
On the day of the Event, the Participant shall have the ticket ready in the Peatix app or printed out so that it can be shown at the door. If the Participant is unable to produce a valid ticket, he/she will not be allowed to enter the Event venue.
The prices on the tickets are inclusive of value. The Organiser reserves the right to adjust prices on the website at any time.
3.2 Proof of Identification
The Organiser may require the Participant to produce valid identification especially if he/she has ordered a ticket under the “Full-Time Students / NSF Admission”.
The Organiser reserves the right to amend the programme line-up and schedule at any time without prior notice to the Participant, in which case they will make an effort to inform the Participant prior to the date of the Event.
5. Ticket exchange or returns
Tickets that have been ordered and sold are not refundable. However, they can be transferred to a third party who is interested to attend the Event and has a Peatix account. The Organiser accepts no liability and will make no reimbursement if the Participant fails to arrive to the Event, in particular, as a result of illness, natural disasters, terrorist attacks or military action.
Latecomers will not be admitted until there is a convenient break in the program, if at all, and admission is at the discretion of the Organisers. There shall be no refund of the ticket fees for latecomers.
5.2 Postponement or cancellation of the Event
The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event at any time without prior notice to the Participant, in which case they will make an effort to inform the Participant prior to the date of the Event. If the Event has to be cancelled or postponed, there shall be no refund of the ticket fees and the Organiser shall not be liable for any other losses or inconvenience caused.
6. Obligations of the Participants when attending an Event
With the purchase of a ticket, the Participant acknowledges the safety, access and other rules of the Organiser. By attending the Event, the Participant accepts to being photographed or/and recorded and appear on video or/and photos on TEDxYouth@Singapore promotional materials. The Participant also acknowledges that unauthorised use of photography, audio or video recording devices (including mobile devices) is strictly prohibited.
7. Disclaimer of liability
7.1 Liability in connection with Event services
The Organiser shall not be liable for damages, losses or claims in connection with the organisation and execution of the Event, in particular, due to Event cancellations, including any direct, indirect or consequential damages.
7.2 Liability concerning the use of the Internet
The Organiser strives to ensure that the information provided on the website http://www.tedxyouthsingapore.com and its social media platforms is complete, correct and up-to-date. The Organiser makes no guarantee that the published information is correct, complete and up-to-date and accepts no liability for any resulting damage or loss. In addition, the Organiser shall accept no liability for damage to the Participant’s computer system as a consequence of using the website, social media platforms and Peatix app. In particular, the Organiser shall not be liable for damage as may be caused to the Participant’s computer or handphone system by malware, such as viruses, worms and Trojan horses.
8. Data protection
For the smooth running of its ticket selling operations, the Organiser requires basic information such as the names and email addresses to be collected via Peatix.
The Organiser processes, uses and stores the Participant’s data, to the extent necessary for the provision of its services and to facilitate registration.
The personal information may also be used for networking at the Event, so that participants can get in touch with each other.
9. Change of the General Terms and Conditions (GTCs)
The Organiser reserves the right to change the GTCs at any time.
