“I want to suggest that there is not just one Future but many futures, and one way of opening up such possibilities is through giving voice to minority stories. This is important to me. I want my films to resonate with the people watching, to challenge them, offer a different perspective and show the realities beyond the confines of the screen. I’d like to think that perhaps it is through this intimacy, this exchange that the many Futures of Us begin.”

K Rajagopal is a passionate filmmaker and enthusiastic storyteller who has created numerous films. He is renowned for his award-winning production, A Yellow Bird, which premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2016. Given his exciting history and colourful experiences—including a painful past—Rajagopal strongly believes in leveraging film as a medium to express certain pressing issues and create thought-provoking reflections and dialogue among viewers.
